Cooperating universities
Four Faculties and two cooperating universities work together within teacher education at the University of Cologne. They enable the wide range of degree programmes and conduct excellent research.

The HfMT Cologne also places a focus on artistic training of instruments and singing. The university closely cooperates with schools. It has an outstanding profile in educational research on the practices of learning and teaching music.
German Sport University Cologne
Germany’s renowned sports university combines teaching, research, and elite sport with a wide range of study and research programmes that range from education to medicine. The high volume of third-party funding is proof of its research strength. A key focus is preparing students to become physical education teachers, in cooperation with the University of Cologne across all school types.
It conducts interdisciplinary research into sport, movement, and physical activity in school and educational processes. Research findings include a balance of practical and theoretical content, and are incorporated into the design of teaching and learning activities in physical education and curricular concepts.
